China continues to implement giant projects "for growth", thus at the same time stimulating their economies. In Inner Mongolia erected city Ordos, designed for 1 million people. At present live in it 20 000, 98 % of the buildings are empty.
In China, many cities, shopping malls and airports ghost – huge infrastructure projects, vacant for years. Chinese authorities announce that these objects – "for growth", and sooner or later they will fill people, clerks, passengers or tenants. At the same time, the government artificially " accelerates " the economy – such infrastructure projects ( here also may include roads that few rides; warehouses filled to capacity copper or aluminum, etc. ) are added to the annual GDP growth rate of 1-1.5 percent points.
Ordos City in Inner Mongolia began to build in 2003. Despite the fact that in the province of Mongolia is only about 17%, it was decided to build a city, it is in Mongolian style ( hence its name associated with the word "Horde" ).
As a result, by 2010, the area 355 square kilometers of the city was built, designed for 1 million people. However, by the end of 2013, Ordos was inhabited by only 2 % – it is home to 20,000 people.
The project was launched in the Ordos region Kangbashi. Here discovered huge reserves of coal and other minerals. The area was immediately built the office towers, administrative centers, government buildings, museums, theaters and sports facilities.
It was also constructed many sleeping areas with beautiful cozy house for middle class people. The only problem, that this area intended to stay 1 million inhabitants, and now here almost no one lives. On empty roads can be enough to ride a skateboard. With such a pace settlement, as now, Ordos will fully occupied through 40-50 years.
