Holy crap, what a monster, I hope it's edible. It seems like an awful waste otherwise.

I have seen baby alligator gars for sale in pet shops. I wonder, -do they stay small like goldfish if contained? And, if released into a non-native river they are invasive and illegal to do so but wonder, -how often has this happened? Owners with loved but overlarge aquaria often (illegally) release their tank pets instead if destroy them.
Yikes!
